ホールカットをベースに、飾りのステッチを入れたモデル。

 

 

 

 

このステッチは、
普段木型にデザイン線を描いていく際の過程をステッチに置き換えたものです。

 

 

 

 

今回描いている線はバルモラル。
線の乗せ方は人によって様々だと思います。
僕の場合はまず大まかな線を数本乗せて、描いたり消したりしながら木型への乗り方やデザインのバランスを見ていきます。

そして最後に線と線を繋いでいくのですが、
今回はその繋ぐ前の状態の線をステッチに置き換えました。
多少のデフォルメはありますが。

 

 

 

 

ホールカットにわざわざ飾りのステッチを入れてしまう事に勿体ないという感想を持つ方もいるかと思います。
蛇足だという自覚はありますが、ミニマルなだけじゃなくて無駄な事も必要だと思っています。
特に今は世の中フル回転なので。

 

 

 

 

よく見ると左右でステッチの線が違うので、
お持ちの方は見てみて下さい。

 

 

 

 

今季20ssよりリリースの
＜ Stand collar wholecut ＞も同じ動機から。

 

 

 

 

立ち襟に模したパーツをホールカット本体に挟み込んでいます。

 

 

 

 

何事も無かったかのようにサラっと仕上げたくて、ステッチが入らない折り込み仕様に。

 

 

 

 

タンをトップラインから下げた位置に配置する事で、タン無しの靴を履いている印象に。
靴下黒くて分かりづらいですが。

次は反動でめちゃくちゃミニマルなホールカットになるか、また違ったデザインのステッチを入れるのか、
何か別のものを挟み込むのか..。
その時の気分や状況で変わってくると思います。

Stitches were inspired by the design drawings on last creation process.

 

Picture 3 : Process
Drawing was done in Balmoral manner. Although laying lines is each to their own, I start with a couple of rough ones and refine by capturing the perfect balance of the last and the overall design. Generally those lines are merged one by one, though with this model I replaced the pre-merged lines with stitches, with a bit of deformation.

Some might think it’s a waste to apply stitches on a wholecut.. However I’m perfectly aware that its redundant yet that’s the beauty of it – instead of endless pursuition of minimalism, like the world is rapidly spinning all the time.

The decorative lines on left and right are slightly different. If you own a pair, have a close look and see.

from 2020ss collection is also inspired by the very reason.

Putting the part in between made to imitate the standing collar.

The part was folded and made without stitches trying to achieve the simplicity.

Tongue was placed underneath the top-line giving it a tongue-less look. Though its hard to tell with the black socks..

Next time it might well be a very simplified minimal wholecut, or another one with decorative stitches, or folding something else in between… I guess it will be a spontaneous thing depending on my feelings and the conditions at the time.
